Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider - Initial Course

• This course is for students who have never taken a BLS Provider course before, their certification has expired, or they prefer the in-person class.

This course is the CPR course designed for healthcare providers and professional rescuers.  The class meets the requirements for CPR certification and for renewal of CPR certification for employees working in the healthcare industry.  This is also the required CPR course for students studying to become healthcare providers.  Successful completion requires satisfactory scores on a written certification exam and satisfactory performance of all skills evaluations.  

What to do prior to the class

1. A textbook is required for this course.  Please visit https://www.worldpoint.com/20-1102-bls-provider-manual to purchase your manual.

Continuing education

1. For Continuing Education submission, go to eLearning.heart.org and log-into your account. Click on the "Completed" tab and select the "CE Credits" pencil icon of the course that you would like continuing education (CE) credits for. You will then select the CE type, confirm your personal information and then click on "Save".

Where to Go

1. Park in the Sullivan Center parking lot directly north of the Mercy College main building. If that lot is full, there is a large parking lot available immediately to the west at the corner of Crocker St. and 7th.
2. Use the crosswalk on 6th to come to the College Hill/Academic Center for Excellence building at 921 6th Ave.
3. There is available parking in this lot for persons with disabilities. Otherwise, be aware that it is a tow zone.
4. Please note: The entrance you will use is the South Entrance, which is the lower level adjacent to Crocker St. Do not use the main entrance.
5. If you’re more than five minutes early, you might not be able to get in. So hang tight!

2. If you are unable to attend the class, please contact the Training Center prior to the class and we will be happy to reschedule for a date when this course is offered again.
3. f you are unable to attend the class and fail to notify the Training Center prior to the class start date, no refund will be issued.
