How the Course Works

     1. The Heartsaver Basic First Aid/CPR/AED Provider course is a class which provides instruction in CPR/AED and principles of First Aid for non-healthcare providers. It is ideal for lay-rescuers.

     2. Topics include care for trauma incidents (injuries) and medical incidents (cardiac arrest, seizures, and shock) for adults, children, and infants.

     3. This course requires a textbook present during the course.  We have textbooks in the classroom that can be used. If you would like to purchase your own, textbooks can be ordered online from American Heart Association at https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartsaver-first-aid-cpr-aed-student-workbook

Where to Go

  1. Park in the Sullivan Center parking lot directly north of the Mercy College main building. If that lot is full, there is a large parking lot available immediately to the west at the corner of Crocker St. and 7th.
  2. Use the crosswalk on 6th to come to the College Hill/Academic Center for Excellence building at 921 6th Ave.
  3. There is available parking in this lot for persons with disabilities. Otherwise, be aware that it is a tow zone.
  4. The entrance you will use is the South Entrance, which is the lower level adjacent to Crocker St.
  5. If you’re more than five minutes early, you might not be able to get in. So hang tight!
